Caribbean Culinary Adventures

EAT

The Caribbean is rarely a destination renowned for its gastronomic scene. Belmond’s three Caribbean retreats offer enticingly different experiences and each an array of culinary adventures. Backed by lush jungle, Maroma blends Mayan mystique with immersion in nature on Mexico’s Riviera Maya. La Samanna, perched on dazzling Baie Longue in St Martin, offers chic suites and world-class restaurants. Cap Juluca promises unbridled barefoot luxury on Maundays Bay, Anguilla’s most heavenly beach.

Maroma- Riveria Maya

Maroma, A Belmond Hotel, Riviera Maya blends Mayan mystique with refined vitality between the jungle and the wide-open sea. Recently transformed with a more contemporary allure, this secluded hideaway captivates with the sights, sounds and scents of authentic Mexican culture. Beachfront restaurants offer zingingly fresh, mouthwatering cuisine while the bars serve up artisanal mezcals and rare Mexican wines. Belmond has partnered with Michelin-star chef and world-class restaurateur Curtis Stone to debut Woodend by Curtis Stone, the hotel’s signature restaurant. A celebration of the connection between sea and jungle, Woodend by Curtis Stone features seasonal dishes inspired by the farmers and fishermen whose ingredients are the heart and soul of the local fare, prepared using Curtis’ signature open-fire technique.

La Samanna- St. Martin

At La Samanna, island glamour blends with cosmopolitan flair on the sugar-white sands of Baie Longue. World-class culinary adventures are inspired by the island’s French heritage. Fresh delicacies can be accompanied by a fine vintage from the hotel’s 12,000-bottle wine cellar. The atmospheric cellar also hosts sommelier-led degustations and private, curated dinners. Earlier this year, La Samanna welcomed Michelin-starred Chef Marcel Ravin as Culinary Director at L’Oursin, the legendary resort’s elegant bistro. Ravin elevates the culinary experience to new heights, pairing a skillful fusion of French and creole flavours with locally sourced, market-fresh produce.

Cap Juluca- Anguilla

Cap Juluca combines beachfront accommodation with relaxed indulgence. Dining ranges from classic Italian to laidback Caribbean. Uchu, one of the hotel’s most sought-after dining option invites you to embark on a tantalizing journey through Peru. By day, savor a selection of delightful light bites and creative cocktails by the connecting pool terrace. At night, the chefs team expresses the rich history of Peru through chilies, spices and organic ingredients used as far back as the Inca did when they first created what we know today as Ceviche.

Cap Juluca’s Culinary Shores bring to the island celebrity chefs from around the world to delight guests with a one-off experience. Next in line, Chef Chloe Coscarelli, renowned for her take on Vegan food.

Between November 20 and 24, indulge in four days of delicious plant-based menus, created with the freshest ingredients, as Cap Juluca and Chef Chloe work hand-inhand to share insights into the culinary world of veganism and wellness.
