5 Beekman Street, New York, NY 10038 Nestled in the epicenter of Lower Manhattan’s vibrant new downtown lies New York’s last hidden architectural treasure, The Beekman. Built in 1881 as one of Manhattan’s first skyscrapers, the heart of this iconic landmark building is its extraordinary nine-story Victorian atrium and majestic pyramidal skylight. Under the design stewardship of Gerner Kronick + Valcarcel, Architects, the property is being converted into The Beekman, a Thompson Hotel. Opening Late August 2016, The Beekman unites some of the world’s greatest talent, combining the sophisticated interior design of Martin Brudnizki with the culinary cachet of restauranteur and chef Tom Colicchio and restaurant-auteur Keith McNally.
